Thousands of people took part in a gun amnesty event in Los Angeles on Wednesday, exchanging their guns for supermarket gift cards. The annual gun buyback is usually held in May, but Los Angeles brought the event forward in response to the recent shootings of 26 people at a primary school in Connecticut and two firemen in New York state.
